The ARC

Past // Present // Future

The ARC, a two-story brick Mid Century Modern office building, was designed by Bill Howard, a student of Bruce Goff and Frank Lloyd Wright. Located in Mesta Park at 616 NW 21st, the football-shaped building was built in 1964, and occupied by Sunbeam Family Services until purchased in 2015 by Marva Ellard.

Ellard, a developer, preservationist, and lover of mid-century architecture, renovated the property with careful attention to Modernist details, and now parcels out space for offices and studios to an eclectic mix of small business owners.

The ground floor contains a lobby and conference space that is open to the ceiling of the second floor and lit with four original circular sky lights. The remainder of the first floor contains a series of small and medium sized offices. The second floor contains an executive office with an enclosed deck and an open library.

Once part of the Sunbeam social services campus, The ARC is now home to a diverse community of creative entrepreneurs, independent professionals, and start-ups with a wide range of talents, skills, and perspectives.
